Greasy roots and dry ends: what to do?

Temporary or permanent, this hair problem gives us a hard time... Fortunately, there are solutions to regain control over our mane! So how do you avoid the flattened root effect and lengths and ends that are crying out for attention? We tell you everything you need to know to get beautiful hair right here!

#seo: dry hair

Why do I have oily roots and dry ends?

This is often the result of a combination of factors: an unbalanced diet, temporary stress, a hormonal disorder or simply living in a polluted environment... and the sebaceous glands go into overdrive, producing excess sebum. Another trap: the frequent use of shampoos for oily hair that dry out the lengths and ends.

So how do you treat this type of hair? By reviewing your entire hair routine, from A to Z.

#seo: papaya scrub ceremonia

A shampoo to rebalance the hair

Papaya Scalp Scrub Exfoliating Shampoo Ceremonia

To restore volume and lightness, replace your usual shampoo once a week with this detoxifying scrub. A veritable sensory cocktail for the hair, it exfoliates the scalp and rids it of pollution, excess styling products and sebum, while stimulating the growth and vigor of the hair fiber.

Pre-shampoo oil remedy

Moska Aceite Scalp Remedy Oil Ceremonia

It's one of those gestures that changes everything! A few drops of this root treatment oil immediately soothes itchy scalps prone to redness and/or flaking, while strengthening lengths and promoting shine. That's right, repeated scratching excites the sebaceous glands - a vicious circle we're finally going to be able to break... And this little vial also stimulates hair growth!

Conditioner for healthy, shiny hair

La Crème de Soin 4 en 1 Coelho Beauty

The treatment that sets every scalp straight! Combining a cream cleanser, conditioner, defining cream and treatment mask, this invigorating treatment restores the hair fiber while caring for the scalp. And on long hair, detangling becomes child's play...The use of a conditioner is an excellent habit to get into, and whatever the type of hair, it makes all the difference: care, softness and maximum shine!

A repairing mask to nourish hair right down to the ends

Vegan Hydration Mask Masque Hydratant Cut by Fred

It's one one of our favorite masks for light nourishment and light, light hair! Once a week, we allow ourselves a few extra minutes by generously coating lengths and ends with this mask based on natural ingredients (coconut oil, coconut and sweet almond), to replenish the hair fiber. Rinse thoroughly, preferably with lukewarm water, to avoid upsetting the delicate balance of the sebaceous glands.

Shine-boosting nutritive serum

Nourishing Hair Elixir Oil Mist con Aloe Vera Ceremonia

Formulated like a face serum but for hair, this shine-boosting treatment repairs, revitalizes and conditions hair for optimal shine, while preventing and smoothing frizz. Use on damp or dry hair as a final step in your styling routine to lock in moisture, holding it 25-30 cm from the hair before spraying 2-3 times all over, insisting on mid-length to ends.

The gesture that changes everything? The Good Brush!

Brosse N°03 l'Indispensable Sensitive Scalp The right brush

It's the perfect way to treat yourself to a moment of self-massage while boosting your hair routine. Its boar bristles distribute sebum more evenly over the entire length of the hair, helping to reduce the amount of sebum at the roots and nourish the ends. What's more, with its ball nylons, it brings moisture and shine to hair, while detangling and caring for sensitive scalps, for sheathed, fortified hair and a purified, detoxified scalp.

The DOs

  • Just before a party, a little dry shampoo (like the Voluminous Dry Shampoo Rahua) will help keep the roots loose. You can also use it to style your hair, as it makes it easier to hold onto the clips.
  • Brushing hair upside down promotes better circulation, distributes oil to the ends and boosts volume.
  • It's best to shampoo only the base of the head: there's no need to rub the lengths frantically, they'll benefit from the shampoo when it's time to rinse, when the shampoo flows over them.

The DON’Ts

  • Wearing buns that are too tight or wearing hats and caps frequently suffocates the scalp.
  • Drying your hair too hot and too close to your head will increase sebum production.
  • Use water that is too hot when rinsing, lukewarm water is the best option.
