Rendez-vous with... Joanne Palmaro

The franco-italian actress Joanne Palmaro shares her recent beauty discoveries and the simple things that make her happy every day.

Who are you?

I’m Joanne and I’m a half french, half italian actress. I live between France and Italy. I became an actress because I’ve been acting in plays since I was small. My daily routine involves a lot of castings, meetings and photoshoots. At the moment I’m writing a series and a book in Italy. Of course I’m passionate about cinema (Fellini, Visconti etc) and about art. And my absolute passion is food.

The first thing you do when you wake up?

I wash my face with ice cold water and tap my skin to boost my circulation. It’s a technique my grandfather taught me so it’s also a bit nostalgic.

What are your favourite products to use every day?

Two or three times a week, I use the Daily Microfoliant Dermalogicaa powder that I put in the palm of my hand and mix with water to create a scrub effect: it exfoliates and removes all the little imperfections... Then I use a vitamin C combo! The Biolumin-C Eye Serum, Dermalogicabecause I often have dark circles and look a bit tired. Then I apply Vitamin C Intensive Face Cream from Kat Burkiwhich is very nourishing and always gives me that glow effect. And if I want even more radiance, I use the Resurfacing Mask from Tata Harper with pink clay, once a week. It's really effective for that peachy complexion.

And what about your hair?

My secret is 100 strokes of the hairbrush every night! I love having volume. Then I use the Flower Volumizing Bath Leonor Greyl as a shampoo, and the Quintessence Mask from the same brand: I wrap my hair in a warm towel and rinse after about 20 minutes. But I can also leave it on all night and only wash my hair in the morning.

What makes you feel good about yourself?

Being happy is what makes me look beautiful and to be happy I need to eat! A bowl of pasta makes my skin glow! So does seeing the people I love, going for a walk, drinking a coffee, writing, watching the sea… and lots of other little things.
