Trapped by a hurricane, Jean-Marie Greyl, co-founder of the hair brand and botany enthusiast, observed the palm trees and noticed that water glided along the leaves without ever wetting them. It was the incredible properties of this plant that gave him the idea for the oil that would become a cult favorite, protecting hair from damage by forming a water-resistant barrier. A cult hair brand, the Leonor Greyl story began in 1968 when Léonor, passionate about hair health and beauty, met her husband Jean-Marie, an engineer with a passion for botany. Even before organic products became fashionable and much sought-after, they both had the desire to create hair care products of natural origin. Unlike the brands of the time, which tended to use silicones in their hair care products, Léonor and Jean-Marie Greyl turned to plants and natural active ingredients to create Leonor Greyl and their first "eco-chic" hair care products. Today, more than 50 years later, Leonor Greyl continues to sublimate hair in search of natural, sensorial and, above all, effective care.
