Tell us all about yourself

“My name is Carla, and I’m 30 years old. I’m French-Lebanese and divide my time between Paris and the South of France. I founded Dopamin, a science-based media outlet dedicated to health and longevity. I followed a textbook path as a model student—almost to a fault: boarding school at 14, preparatory classes at 17, HEC at 19. And it wasn’t until I’d checked all those boxes that I truly allowed myself to assert myself professionally and take my place. I’ve always been fascinated by the world of brands and creative fields—so it was only natural that I started my career there. Outside of work, I love—in no particular order—cooking, my dog, the sun, and the Mediterranean, to which I’m deeply attached.”

Where does your passion for wellness and longevity come from?

“A few years ago, health issues forced me to completely rethink my lifestyle. It was a real eye-opener. I realized that we can take proactive steps, that the body responds From truly listen to it, that longevity isn’t about gurus but about science—and that this science should be accessible to everyone. I wanted to make this my mission. Since then, I’ve never let go of this cause.”

What is your philosophy on self-care?

“My deep conviction is that there is no single definition of well-being, but as many ways to take care of oneself as there are people. There is no universal protocol, no model routine, and no “model student” to emulate. Self-care is deeply personal: it is experienced at one’s own pace, in one’s own rhythm, without an imposed schedule.”

“What I hate are moralizing speeches—that constant ‘you should’ that turns self-care into yet another source of guilt. And I hate fear-mongering even more. At Dopamin, we try to do exactly the opposite: open up the conversation, rather than shut it down with demands.”

What's your favorite Oh My Cream address?

“The shop in the Marais, just a stone's throw from my office. There I find my go-to items:

"The list is long :)"

#seo: Alaéna Spa

In your opinion, what's the best place to go for a facial that boosts your skin's radiance?

“Alaena Spa. I’m a huge fan of their signature facial, and the place itself is gorgeous—a haven of peace right in the heart of Paris.”

What's your favorite place to go for a good body treatment?

“A massage at Paris Palms. Honestly, it was a revelation.”

What do you think is the activity that boosts dopamine the most?

“My morning walk with my dog, without a doubt. I deliberately chose an office that’s a thirty-minute walk from my home so I could make this a daily ritual: walking, having my coffee, seeing the sun, getting some exercise, and cuddling with my dog before the day even begins. It makes all the difference.

On a completely different note: a dip in the ocean the morning after a big night out. Extreme, but unbeatable.”

#seo: nature

What is the most relaxing place for both the mind and the body?

“Nature, always. My true joy is hiking around Sainte-Victoire when I’m in the South.”

If there were one wellness ritual you should try at least once in your life, what would it be for you?

“A breathwork session. For me, it was with Sarah (@dumpster), and it was deeply moving: I cried my eyes out and entered a trance-like state I’d never experienced before. Something everyone should try at least once.”

What's the latest longevity concept you've tried that really blew you away?

“Zoï, a longevity clinic on Place Vendôme: a morning of highly specialized tests to get a true picture of the state of your body, in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen in Paris. The precision is astonishing, even if the price makes it an experience that’s still quite unique.”

What place inspires you the most, and why?

“The South, without a doubt—between the French Mediterranean and Lebanon, where my roots lie.”

"This light, this way of life where self-care is effortless, where everything revolves around the table, nature, taking one’s time, and togetherness. It is my compass and the foundation of my definition of health."

Which wellness expert do you trust completely to help you get back on your feet?

“I do strength training with a personal trainer named Vincent Limare every week at Gymate, which is awesome!”

A relaxing place where you could spend the day?

“The Fantaisie Spa. In addition to offering a treatment menu designed by the brand Holidermie featuring soothing facial and body treatments, the spa features several hot and cold pools and floatation tanks, as well as a hammam, an infrared sauna, and a traditional sauna—all right in the 9th arrondissement. The place is gorgeous. We even hosted a Dopamin event there!”

And finally, where do you go when you want to turn on *Do Not Disturb* mode?

“To tell the truth, I’m in ‘do not disturb’ mode almost all the time! Basically, I head to a café, order breakfast, pull out my notebook, and write. I don’t do it nearly as often as I’d like, but it’s definitely my favorite time of day.

"I have a few favorite cafés: Mardi Café, Résidence Kann, Paloma in Belleville... The same ones for years."
