Certified naturopath Aurélie Canzoneri inspires us every day with her vision of well-being. Meet this wellness expert, who undoubtedly has the best advice for taking care of yourself and nourishing your body from the inside out.
What made you want to become a naturopath?
"I've always liked things to move fast, and I was living at a very intense pace that left no room for introspection or attentive listening to my feelings and emotions! However, this dual professional activity was the source of increased stress, which I ignored as I added more and more work to it. At the time, I paid no attention to what I ate or to other aspects of my health and well-being.
When the desire to have a child came up in our marriage, my husband - also a hyperactive entrepreneur - and I became aware of the level of stress in which we were immersed and began to realize that we were going to have to make adjustments in our lives.
The first year of matrescence(ed. note: contraction of the words maternity and adolescence, to explain the birth of a mother) confronted me with my new reality as well as my new expectations and responsibilities. It wasn't always easy, but I was able to concentrate on what I wanted to offer my daughter and my family.
It was in this context that I became interested in naturopathy."
What are your rituals for feeling balanced?
"My wellness rituals are pillars that help me feel aligned, energized and fulfilled on a daily basis. I like to start the day with a protein breakfast, based on eggs, to nourish my body and stabilize my blood sugar levels and therefore my energy.
Movement is essential for me: I do sport every day, and I love walking, strolling the streets in town or in the country, to oxygenate my body and mind. I also like to stimulate my brain by reading a complex text every day.
Hydration is a priority, so I make sure I drink at least 1.5 L of water a day, and I'm careful to consume enough protein and fiber.
I also attach importance to my skin and hair care rituals: they're not long, but they do me good.
And then, what nourishes my equilibrium above all else, is the bond with those closest to me: talking, laughing, dancing with my husband, my children, my family, my friends. These moments of joy and spontaneity are my greatest source of positive energy.
I would also add the importance of breathing and relaxation: taking a few minutes to breathe deeply, meditating or simply closing my eyes and being in the moment. Especially in the evening, just before going to bed. "
How has your approach to beauty evolved?
"My approach to beauty has evolved over time, and thanks to expert advice and observation of other people's habits. I love learning, trying out new things, but always keeping a critical eye and making up my own mind.
I'm open to integrating new products and practices, but never at the expense of my time. For me, beauty should remain a pleasure, not a constraint. I've found a balance by adopting simple, effective gestures that do me good without weighing down my daily routine.
Today, I prefer a more minimalist, targeted approach: I go straight to the essentials with quality treatments tailored to my needs, while keeping abreast of developments and new discoveries in well-being and cosmetics."
What are your bathroom essentials?
"In my bathroom, I like to go straight to the essentials with effective products that really do me good. My must-haves include thermal spring water, which I use morning and night after cleansing my face.
On the face side, I remove my make-up with a special cotton pad that I wash every day, and then I cleanse my face with a gel that I alternate regularly.
I sometimes use serum (I often mix it with my cream before applying it), and I never go without my Absolution moisturizer (I love the smell) and my eye contour cream to deeply nourish my skin. And I regularly apply an SPF 50 cream on top.
I recently discovered Pure Altitude eye patches, which I love!
My The Lip Balm Le Baume à Lèvres Augustinus Bader is also a must-have, never leaving my side.
A clean deodorant! I've been usingAurelia Skincare for years. I sometimes alternate with Agent Nateur.
A good body cream, because I have dry skin. At the moment I love the smell and texture of the Body Butter by Susanne Kaufmann."
There's a lot of talk about "listening to your body": how do you actually go about listening to your needs?
"Listening to your body isn't just a nice phrase, it's a daily practice that requires attention and, above all, self-indulgence. In concrete terms, I've learned to observe my physical sensations and emotions without trying to control or ignore them, and without "listening to myself too much" either.
I regularly ask myself: What do I really need today? Whether in terms of diet, physical activity, rest or even social interaction. Some days I want an intense workout, others just a more gentle session.
The same goes for food: I respect my cravings without frustration, and I know that I will naturally return to my balance if I indulge myself at some point.
I also pay attention to the signals my body sends me: fatigue, tension, digestion, energy... All this guides me as to what's right for me and what's not. If I'm feeling sluggish, I adapt my pace without feeling guilty.
Finally, I incorporate moments of pause into my day. These are small, simple but essential gestures to stay connected to myself and avoid operating in autopilot mode."
And finally, what wellness tip would you like to share with our community?
"Allow yourself to evolve, to test, to adjust, without frustration or guilt. Take care of yourself gently, find what really nourishes you, and above all, remember that pleasure and joy are essential pillars of a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.
Above all, don't let yourself be overly influenced by trends or fashions. What works for others won't necessarily work for you. True well-being is the kind that suits you, that respects your rhythm, your needs and your current reality."
