Interview with... Maria de la Orden, co-founder of the Maria de la Orden studio

A passionate fashion designer, Marie de la Orden is the co-founder of the Maria de la Orden studio, a colorful brand with timeless, feminine pieces, with whom we have imagined the ultimate summer collab with the Maria de la Orden x Oh My Cream Summer Kit. We caught up with the designer to talk about the inspirations behind this beautiful collaboration.

What inspired you to create Studio Maria de la Orden?

What inspired me to create my own brand... It all started during a trip to Peru with my family. I really admired all the colors and craftsmanship of this country. So I decided to bring some fabrics back to Spain and started making a few jackets that I began selling to my network. In the end, it was thanks to Instagram that it all began and the magic happened...

How do you define your brand values?

Our brand is characterized by our colorful, original, vintage-inspired collections. We use many elements from our childhood, such as smocks, large collars and liberty fabrics. We also make very limited productions, because no one really wants to end up with the same dress as a friend at a wedding or dinner party. And we try to use the most natural materials possible.

Why this collaboration with Oh My Cream?

What made us want to collaborate with Oh My Cream is that I think we share many common values and points in common. Oh My Cream's selection of very niche and clean brands is reflected in our commitment to small-scale production and sourcing the most natural materials possible.

What inspired you to design this summer kit?

We decided to make this kit in a very colorful fabric from one of our summer outfits for a real total look with this little kit. It's not just a toiletry bag, you can really use it as a bag for going out in the evening or to the beach and put all your essentials in it.

Your 3 favourite products in the Kit?

The Multi Stick Palette Ilia: I love this multi-purpose palette because it's so practical with all its shades that can be applied to cheekbones, lips and eyelids.
We want... a sublime tan Atelier Nubio: I love these Atelier Nubio supplements to prepare your skin for tanning and get a healthy tan.
Le Beau Reset Floral Mist Ulé: I love this mist, which I apply on the street in Paris to protect my skin from pollution.

The Summer Kit product you won't be able to live without this summer?

The product I couldn't do without this summer is the Sun Face Cream SPF50 Rudolph Care. It really does have a very light texture and a very pleasant smell.
