We tested for you: hyaluronic acid injections

Yes, we dared! Or rather, our two colleagues who are least afraid of needles (thanks, girls!). In this article, Fanny & Ellie explain everything you need to know about hyaluronic acid injections, from procedure to results and prices.

What exactly is hyaluronic acid?

At Oh My Cream we know hyaluronic acid well and for good reason, it is THE most powerful moisturizing molecule available. A real water sponge, naturally present in our bodies, it ensures a plump skin and a fresh complexion. The problem is that its production drops by 6% every 10 yearsThe problem is that its production decreases by 6% every 10 years, leading to skin slackening and the first wrinkles around the age of 30. This is why it is mainly used in cosmetics: for example, it is found in our Hydrating Serum or our SOS Maskor in the form of food supplements and of course... in aesthetic medicine! Fanny and Ellie have tried the famous injections and give you their assessment.

"When we brought up the idea of writing an article about injections in the office, I volunteered right away even though I admit I had quite a few preconceived ideas: Does it hurt? When you put your finger in, is it for life? And above all, I didn't really know what would be right for me. OK, I've got a few complexes: dark circles, eyelids that droop a bit... But do I really need it?".

The "MD CODES" injection technique by Doctor Olivier Claude

My appointment was made, and I would soon receive my diagnosis. More than a diagnosis, I was about to realize that hyaluronic acid injections are certainly one of the best tools for preventing facial aging and that they of facial aging and that they would not transform me (nor change my appearance, nor remove my expression lines), but would allow me to "age better" by preventing my face from sagging and becoming a little sad with the years...

Who is this method intended for?

We can start from the age of about 30, as soon as the first modifications of the face secondary to the loss of bone and deep fat, which lead to a slackening of the face.

On which areas can it be performed?

It depends on the personalized analysis you will have, but most of the time it is necessary to start from the top respecting the "inverted cone of youth" to to treat the causes of aging and not its consequences :

A- Upper support: cheekbone and temple (3ml)
B- The centro-facial support: under the cheekbone and labio-chinese fold (3ml)
C- Cervico-facial support: for the jaw-line between the chin and the mandibular angle (4ml)
* The ml are indicated to give you an idea of the price below ;-)

How does it work ?

The approach of Doctor Olivier Claude is different from anything I have ever heard or read on the subject... His customized technique consists in harmonize the contours of the face by injecting 3 key areas mentioned above, which will act as a "support" and "redesign" the oval of the face. The promise? An immediate "plump" effect and the restoration of our positive emotions (enhanced eyelids and eyebrow tails, smoothed nasolabial folds, raised corners of the mouth, better defined jaw line).

How often?

Hyaluronic acid is completely resorbed in more than 2 years. The exact duration depends on the products used, the technique and the metabolism of each patient. In practice, for the first year, one should 2 to 4 sessions for the facial supportthen the following years 1 or 2 per year for "maintenance".

A real "coup de frais"! In fact, it's me for the better as if I'd slept 12 hours straight, looked 3 years younger and lost 1kg... Without having swollen, removed or filled anything and, above all, without it "showing". What's even crazier is that, with this technique, there's often no need to apply local treatments afterwards, as they naturally diminish the signs of the passing of time (dark circles are less pronounced in my case, for example).

Hyaluronic acid injections for naturally "plump" lips by Ellie

"Between the ages of 30 and 40, too much sun, genetics, and smoking, among other things, can play a predominant role in aging lips, leading them to a sadder or droopy appearance... On my end, I have very thin, dehydrated lips that continue to wrinkle over time. So I started looking for a center that would be able to meet my expectations: a place where I could be sure of the quality of the products injected and that would respect the natural beauty of the body."

Lip reshaping by injection at Lazeo

At Lazeolip enhancements are obtained with natural biodegradable hyaluronic acid-based fillers, specially developed for the lips, which provide natural and long-lasting results. Hyaluronic acid fillers help to smooth lines, reduce dehydrated corners of the lips, and bring radiance to dry and tired lips. Others have more volumizing properties to plump lips and define the cupid's bow, as well as subtly highlight thin lips in a very natural way.

How does it work ?

It depends on the injection technique used:
- Needle injections Several injections are performed all around the lips. The results are natural, but the technique is a little uncomfortable. An anaesthetic cream with a high concentration of lidocaine is applied to the entire mouth at least 30 minutes before the session.
- Cannula injections Injections with a cannula: the doctor will make a micro hole on both sides of the lips with a needle, in order to be able to insert the cannula that will run along the lip. This technique minimizes swelling and bruising.

For my first session, the doctor applied an anaesthetic cream and chose to turn to the and chose to turn instead to "hydrating" hyaluronic acidThis will rehydrate my lips by adding a little volume, while naturally reshaping them. He will use both techniques, with the cannula and then with the needle for the cupid's bow (area located in the middle of the upper lip). I see him again two weeks laterI saw him again two weeks later to check the results and to make sure that the first injections were meeting my expectations. We both decide to add a little volume, thanks to the use of a hyaluronic acid, this time, "volumizing". The session is like the previous one, without pain or swelling.

Like Fanny, the result is subtle and natural. I'm told that something has changed, without being able to say what it is, and that's exactly what I was looking for: a "me, only better" result. My lips are rehydrated, naturally redefined and fuller. They look healthier, without changing my face. I had none of the side effects (such as swelling or oedema) and was able to return to normal life after a few hours, while the effect of the anaesthetic wore off.

How often?

Hyaluronic acid is designed to provide long-lasting results, with visible improvement after more than a year. It dissipates gradually.

Price:

Depending on the quantity used and the areas to be treated, the price can vary, from 360€ to 420€. But during the first consultation, the doctor will inform you of the exact price.
