10 easy, real-life detox tips

Why not start off the year with a detox? Forget the usual frustrations associated with the detox word and think instead of a “positive detox.” To help get the year off to a good start, we have put together a selection of our fail-safe tips, tried and tested by the team and totally compatible with our super speedy lifestyles.

1. No blame

This is probably the most important tip for us. Because the end of year celebrations often rhyme with an overflow of chocolates, wine at the table, generous dinners shared with the family (which do a lot of good for the morale), we are quickly tempted to curl up in a little bubble of guilt... The small simple pleasures of life are, even more so in this particular period, small pleasures to cherish.

2. Gently, gently on the liver

After enjoying the good times (and the yule log) we admit to feeling the need to eat more balanced, lighter food. Broths and pressed juices are good options. We have prepared for you our selection of #beautyfood recipes to make all year long and we even tested for you a juice treatment Atelier Nubio to discover here.

3.Be kind to your skin

The skin also needs a dose of "reboost" at the beginning of the year, because the excesses of the holidays often have an impact on the skin and hair, and because it is the ideal time to build habits that will last all year long. Discover our selection of of skin care products that are well worth a juice treatment.

4. Hydration (from the inside)

It's not always easy to drink 2.5 L of water a day. Our tip: prepare a large water bottle to take with you everywhere or put a carafe of water at your desk in the morning to create an automatism. If you find it difficult to drink a lot of water opt for a ginger and lemon infusion (or for the infusions The French Herborist which we love at Oh My Cream).

5. Detox your body (and mind) with heat

Sweating helps eliminate toxins, so if you can combine relaxation, pleasure and usefulness, we love it! After a day of work, why not take the time to take a few minutes off in a hot bath? The heat of the water will accelerate the sweating while calming the tensions. For more benefits, we like to add a few drops of essential oils carefully chosen for their virtues according to your needs and desires: lavender to relax, arnica for muscle tension, pine and silver fir to tone up.

6. Use nature’s resources (plants, aromatherapy & phytotherapy)

Plants are sometimes well known to be allies in our daily life, "inside & out". However, they should be used with caution, as some are not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women, and for children under 6 years old. Our two essential oils ? The lemon to purify and boost the immune system, the juniper to drain and boost the lymphatic system.

7. An (auto-)massage for the face

To eliminate toxins and boost blood circulation (and to help you relax of course) we like to include this face massage into our beauty routine. So, apply your products and then help them to sink in with a jade or pink quartz roller or a gua sha stone, and don’t forget the neck to help eliminate toxins (lymphatic drainage). Your skin will be plumper and brighter. Bye bye dull skin, hello glow!

8. Deep sleep

The holidays are also a difficult time. Between the last-minute emergencies at the office, the Christmas presents to finish, the meals to plan... It is not rare that we forget to rest and get enough sleep. Yet, it is at night that our organs work the most, regenerate and detoxify. Make your bedroom a cozy little nest: program all electronic devices to be turned off at a reasonable hour and get comfortable in bed with a book. I promise you, you won't want to move from this little cocoon.

9. Try probiotics

We already told you about the benefits of these little bacteria that have everything good : They are anti-inflammatory and boost our skin flora. What if we also adopted them after the holidays to remedy the little imperfections that have shown up on our pretty faces, or to kill two birds with one stone and regain the balance of our intestinal flora (a little mistreated during the end-of-year period)?

10. Dry brushing

As well as having an exfoliating effect on the skin, the dry brushing method helps to drain the lymphatic system by drawing stagnant lymph fluid up towards the lymphatic ganglions which in turn help to eliminate toxins.
