What is salicylic acid?

Discovered in 1829 by pharmacist Pierre-Joseph Leroux, salicylic acid is a formidable active ingredient for blemishes. Known for its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, it was originally extracted from willow bark and has long been used medicinally for its benefits against pain and fever, later becoming the ingredient behind aspirin.

What are the benefits of salicylic acid?

On complexion radiance: thanks to its keratolytic (desquamation-promoting) properties, salicylic acid is able to soften the stratum corneum to dislodge dead cells that dull the complexion , revealing more radiant skin.
