What is a blackhead?
Blackheads appear as a result of excessive sebum production. Combination to oily skins are therefore more likely to see these little nuisances appear on the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin). Nose blackheads are actually caused by a dysfunction of the sebaceous gland. In response to a variety of factors, the gland can go into overdrive, producing too much sebum. Sebum, which forms the hydrolipidic film of the epidermis, serves to protect the skin from dehydration, and as a natural barrier, it is therefore essential for the skin! The problem is that when these glands produce too much, pores end up dilating to distribute the sebum. These excesses quickly overwhelm the pores, causing them to become clogged! Add to this an accumulation of dead cells and an oxidation phenomenon which means that, on contact with the air, this happy mixture changes colour, turning into a blackhead.
Gestures to avoid
- Of course, it's important to exercise self-control and not go after a blackhead as soon as it appears. Not only do you risk leaving a scar, but you can also spread the impurity and infect another pore.
-
Avoid camouflaging them with layers of make-up containing mineral oils and artificial colorants, which act as a concealer while clogging your pores!
-
Don't use the blackhead patch on your nose! Too aggressive, it's not as effective as you might think. In fact, the blackhead patch may only remove the upper part of the blackhead on the nose, without completely unblocking the pore. So blackheads gradually return afterwards.
