We tested it for you... Sofwave, the ultrasound facelift

This is the future of cell regeneration without injections: a non-invasive facial lifting technique using ultrasound. Focus on Sofwave, the skincare revolution that stimulates collagen and elastin production without damaging the upper layer of the skin.

What is Sofwave technology?

Aging well means, above all, preserving your skin, its tone, and its radiance, without changing your expression or resorting to invasive procedures. It is in this quest for naturalness and comfort that innovations such as Sofwave come into play, stimulating collagen where the skin needs it most. A new addition to the large family of aesthetic medicine treatments that fall into neither the surgical nor the injection category, Sofwave is a non-invasive technology that uses ultrasound to target collagen. It acts deep down to the dermis, while respecting the surface of the skin, to generate thermal stimulation to improve firmness and texture.

How does it work?

Sofwave does not artificially "lift" the skin, but stimulates its own regeneration mechanism, offering gradual and natural rejuvenation . The technology uses high-intensity, high-frequency synchronous ultrasound waves , delivered by seven transducers in direct contact with the skin. These ultrasound waves gradually heat the middle layer of the dermis, where collagen and elastin fibers are located, to 60-70°C at a depth of approximately 1.5 millimeters.

The epidermis remains protected thanks to the integrated cooling system, which regulates the temperature in real time. Its effect is fractional, meaning that the ultrasound createscylindrical thermal zones to heat specific points deep within the dermis, while leaving certain areas intact. In other words, the energy is not applied to the entire surface of the skin, but to small targeted areas to avoid the risk of irritation. This controlled action stimulates the remodeling of collagen and elastin, strengthening the skin's structure and improving its firmness, density, and elasticity

The benefits of ultrasound lifting

The results appear gradually over weeks and months, as the newly produced collagen restructures the dermis. They become truly apparent within 12 weeks of treatment, with:

  • Firmer, more toned skin that regains its structure and radiance as collagen regenerates.

  • Reduced fine lines and wrinkles for a smoother, more defined face.

  • A redefined facial contour, particularly around the cheeks, temples, and lower face.

  • A smoother, more even texture, leaving the skin feeling soft and rejuvenated.

How does a Sofwave session work?

First, the skin is thoroughly cleansed. An anesthetic cream may be applied to the entire area to be treated and left on for 30 to 45 minutes to ensure optimal comfort. Next, a contact gel is applied and two to three passes are made over each area using the Sofwave handpiece. At the end of the treatment, a healing cream is applied to soothe the skin and promote regeneration.

Sofwave or Morpheus: what are the differences between these two techniques?

If Sofwave and Morpheus8 are two technologies that aim to firm the skin and stimulate collagen production, they are based on different approaches. As explained above, Sofwave uses synchronized ultrasound waves that heat the dermis to a depth of 1.5 mm without perforating the skin, ensuring optimal comfort. Morpheus8, on the other hand, combines microneedles and radiofrequency to heat to a depth of up to 4 mm, creating micro-perforations to target sagging, wrinkles, texture, pores, and even small areas of fat. The treatment is more intense and requires a recovery period, but offers a more pronounced lifting effect, particularly on the more slackened areas of the face and body.

While the effects of Sofwave are gradual, only one session per year is needed to see results after three months. As for Morpheus8, up to 4 sessions are recommended for visible and lasting results that appear after 3 to 6 weeks. While both technologies are suitable for all skin types, your level of sagging, comfort tolerance, and expected results must be determined in order to make the best choice.
