Aurélie Canzoneri's naturopathic "food & mood" tips
To function properly, our bodies and minds absolutely need good fuel. Naturopath Aurélie Canzoneri shares her tips for boosting your energy and helping you maintain it throughout the year.
The best fuel? Healthy food!
-
Choose organic vegetables Steamed, juiced or eaten raw, they are our best allies!
-
Introduce enzymes at every meal in the form of sprouted seeds or lacto-fermented juices for healthy intestinal flora.
-
Omega-3 These fatty acids are essential for our brain and cardiovascular system. Omega-3s are found in: small fish (e.g. sardines, herring, mackerel, salmon, tuna) (such as sardines, herring, mackerel, salmon and tuna), vegetable oils such as linseed, camelina or hemp oil (but never heat them!), and chia seeds, which can be eaten as a pudding, breakfast or snack.
-
We replace our basic industrial products with healthier equivalents These include fleur de sel, unrefined sugar, wholemeal or gluten-free flour, omega-3-rich oils, wheat germ, sprouted seeds and mild spices to aid digestion.
- We can't stress this enough: drinking at least 1 to 1.5l of water a day is essential! Drink before meals to activate digestive enzymes, a little during meals to avoid bloating and slow digestion, and an hour after meals.
A few tips to adopt every day to radiate physically and mentally...
- Excitants such as coffee like coffee with chicory or adaptogens.
- We take the time to clear our minds at least five minutes a day to meditate and relax.
- Physical activity on a daily basis is essential for our health: thirty minutes of walking a day is already a good thing!
- For people prone to stress and anxiety For people prone to stress and anxiety: practice cardiac coherence to regulate breathing and relax.
