Protect coloured hair

Hair also needs a summer beauty routine. A special mention goes to coloured hair which deserves particular attention: here, you will find all of our top tips to best look after it all summer long.

#seo: color-treated hair

Why take care of color-treated hair in summer?

Natural hair is generally quite convinced by the golden glow left by afternoons in the fresh air. Color-treated and highlighted hair, on the other hand, is no great friend of the sun, and would surely prefer never to experience the unpleasant surprise of colour turning brown.

And for good reason: UV rays "disturb" the hair fiber. It promotes degradation of the lipids that act as intercellular cement between the hair scales. When this cement is absent, the scales loosen slightly. Hair then becomes porous, reflecting light less well. As for the pigment, at best it escapes, and at worst it "transforms".

It should also be noted that hair is made up of water (around 12 to 15% of its weight) and that prolonged bathing dehydrates the hair. It's the combination of these 2 phenomena that gives hair its dreaded "straw-bale" appearance.

#seo: leonor greyl oil

Care oil to protect

To insulate the hair fiber from aggressive agents (notably chlorine and salt), apply a thin layer of conditioning oil to the lengths. Leonor Greyl Pre-Shampoo Oil Leonor Gre yl remains a must for protecting color-treated and/or highlighted hair. For summer protection, apply to dry lengths and ends before brushing to distribute the product evenly, reapplying after 3 or 4 baths. It can also be used as a protection against chlorinated swimming pool water, which can dry out or fade colors. And it can even be left on overnight, like a repair mask, if you want to optimize your vanity.

And if you have an itchy scalp, try Moska'sMoska Aceite Scalp Remedy Oil Ceremonia's pre-shampoo oil treats itchy scalps prone to redness and/or flaking, while strengthening lengths and promoting shine.

Protective shampoo from colour

After every swim and in the evening, we get into the habit of rinsing our hair thoroughly with fresh water. If your hair is too salty, the shampoo won't lather and you'll be tempted to add a lot of product. Once hair is thoroughly wet, take a small amount of shampoo. Apply the product in 3 strokes: on the temples, the top of the forehead and the back of the neck. Then gently massage and distribute the lather over the lengths. And there's no need to rub the product in like an "energetic washing-up liquid". For this step, we take on board Shield Shampoo colour Christophe Robin, ashampoo dedicated to color-treated hair, rich in antioxidants to protect colour from damage and prevent color fading.

If you have blond or chestnut hair, we recommend the duo Color Full Shampoo for color-treated hair Rahua. It contains the famous Ungurahua oil, which repairs and prolongs the life of colour, as well as Amazonian Lilac and Blueberry extracts, to enhance blond or chestnut highlights. To reduce the porosity of color-treated hair, Buriti oil forms a lipidic layer, creating a barrier against pigment leakage and making hair shinier.
