Tell us all about yourself

"My name is Clotilde ChaumetI'm an entrepreneur, creative artist and yoga and meditation teacher based in Paris, LA and RIO. I'm a former founder senior master coach at Dynamo cycling, and co-founder of TIHHY. I'm relaunching a new project very soon, like an extension of my head and imagination, entitled "Clotilde Chaumet", which will first take shape on a brand new website as well as a new practice platform bringing together yoga, meditation and creative talks."

How did your story with yoga begin?

"I've always done a lot of sport. My training practices were even early on a form of therapy for me with music and very quickly I understood that there was a very strong dialogue between the body in movement and the mind. I was drawn to yoga when I was 16-17, when I saw my mother, a former dancer, who was very supple, but also very powerful in her body. And as I delved deeper into the subject, I found it fascinating to see all the benefits on the mind possible 'just' with your body and literally nothing else."

"I started practicing mainly on my own, then my regular practice settled in as a necessity. I always say that I started yoga for the handstands or the splits, but stayed for the meditation. I shared a lot of postures, insights and reflections that came to me as a result of my personal practices, and by dint of having friends and people around me asking me to teach them, I realized that I did indeed want to go further and become a teacher, so that in turn I could share these techniques and know-how that had helped me enormously in my life."

How does sport affect your well-being and your vision of well-being?

"Movement and music are absolutely everything to me, and I make them my priority every day. This discipline and framework give me enormous freedom in everything else, and help me keep my mind and consciousness clear, creative and healthy. Movement heals, circulates tensions and even traumas, while immobility of the body creates mental immobility in our lives. As soon as I practice and get into movement and my music, all is well. This is where I've always had my greatest moments of clarity and my best visions. It's where my system breathes and my energy grows. For me, well-being is all about this dialogue, this alignment and this respect for body and mind."

Tell us about your vision of beauty

"For me, beauty clearly comes from a person's energy and certain character traits. Aesthetically speaking, I love imperfections, differences and what is natural more than anything else. I've been taking care of my skin for a while now, but I'm still looking for what it really needs and changing my routines quite a bit. I also particularly enjoy taking care of it with massages and treatments from traditional Chinese medicine. Recently, I've been stretching my face in all directions, but in private, because the visuals are so special."

What are your bathroom essentials?

"I have my all-time favorites, the ones I'm using right now (and really loving):

The classics I love : the Hyaluronic Gel Moisturizer Gel Tata Harperthe Bisou Blush Crème Violette FR, the Lapis Facial Oil Huile Visage Herbivore Botanicals, Dr Bronner products, SEROTONER by Cap Beauty, Aesop's classic deodorant for men with Zinc Ricinoleate, I've been wearing it for... 6 years and I'm known for this smell in my yoga classes haha

Right now: the Soothing Sun Relief Cream Sun Rice & Probiotics SPF50+ Beauty of Joseon, as well as the brand's Ginseng Essence Water and Revive Eye Cream Ginseng + Retinal, Crème Hydratante Verdoie and Green Botanical Serum Activist

When I travel: theImprinting Eye Mask and theImprinting Hydrogel Mask BioEffect or the Centella Asiatica Soothing Tissue Mask Beauty of Joseon

And I really want to try the Dive in Serum Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid Torriden as well as their Dive In Multi Pad Disks. "

What rituals help you feel good about yourself, beyond your appearance?

"I have my sports/yoga practice every day without exception, with 1-2 days off a week, which is still a day when I walk or stretch. I also meditate every day, whether for a few minutes or longer meditations. I walk a lot, it's silly, but it's REALLY something that does me a lot of good.

Every morning, before drinking water or anything else, I use a tongue scraper to clean my tongue. It's an Ayurvedic technique that I know from yoga and one that I do without exception. I also follow a lot of traditional Chinese medicine remedies and techniques in my diet."

"In this area, I consume these plants, minerals and foods every day:

  • I've been eating a lot of mushrooms for a while now, and lately my favourites have been from Verdoiethe quality is incredible.

  • Turmeric every day in powder or capsule form

  • Maca, spirulina and sumac powder daily

  • Flower Remedies by Alexis Smartoften GANESH or BEAUTY FORMULA NO. 8

  • Magnamagnesium/electrolytes

  • Bone broth

  • Pollen!"

"Finally, I love going to see my acupuncturist Elaine Huntzinger who gives me a full check-up at every session between acupuncture, cupping and face and jaw massage with gua sha, etc. I try to do acupuncture several times a month. I try to do acupuncture several times a month, I think this technique is incredible."

And what helps you let go?

"Kobido massages massages with Anouk Biard in Paris and body massages with Linda (@aesthetic_club_paris) who gives me so much more than a massage every time. Her energy is super-soothing. Certain yoga postures are my tools for settling, everything around the hips and upper back/shoulders is incredible. There's nothing like 15 minutes of a few postures to hold for a long time, and you realize just how much your body is a zone of research, creativity and peace. Once again, meditation, but here above all with my crystal bowls, my meditation musical instruments. The frequencies bring the nervous system directly into the parasympathetic aka calm."

You're about to launch a brand new eponymous project combining your passions for yoga, music and art...

"This new project I've been working on for a while is really an extension of my head, it's more than a brand or a concept. It brings together everything that inspires and interests me, from yoga, music and visual arts to talk shows and cooking. I wanted to share everything that inspires me, makes me feel good and helps me. I truly and officially refuse to choose between all the things I'm passionate about, as we're forced to do by social habit and the need for rationality.

There will be a new site with a visual identity very different from anything I've done before. The mantra of this project is: Elegant but a little bit wrong. Very French. And playful Practice. No separation between art, yoga, design and music."

"It will bring together all these different elements: my classes and trainings from my face-to-face yoga school, future talk shows coming out in 2025 that I've been working on for a while too, and a big novelty: an online practice platform that will reflect the practices I love, respect and above all use in my daily life to feel aligned, athletic, inspired and happy. Sessions will range from varied yoga session classes to stretching routines to advanced practices, from yoga sessions to transcendental breathworks (Various) to musical meditations to inspiring and unique discussions with guest artists, friends and creatives I admire and who inspire me.

Finally, an important point for me was to retain the quality and discipline of yoga while offering classes and sessions for those who don't consider themselves "yogis". The platform will offer a collection of different sessions, making the options almost perfectly suited to all and sundry. Even non-yoga practitioners will find something to enjoy in mobility or flexibility routines for runners, short and intense yoga workouts that will challenge without worry, mini-meditations "for great sex" or never-before-seen conversations with creative guests. Classes range in length from 3 to 60 minutes, and are available in both French and English. These sessions and teachings will be a reflection of the user's imagination, offering fun, quality and support for a space to work and relax at home. "

What messages do you like to convey through your yoga practices?

" Yoga, sport, meditation and music have helped me so much. I teach the classes I'd like to take. Through all my classes in general, I want to share and transmit what I myself feel during my practices: feeling aligned with who we are, stopping constantly putting up barriers and finally living life. I teach a lot about cultivating kindness, the classic "do no harm but take no shit!I really want to help people understand that fatality, excuses and "being motivated" have nothing to do with it, you just have to finally make room for your passions and stop trying to do everything perfectly. I want them to hear, despite everything the mind can tell us, that the safest, coolest, richest and most inspiring place to be is ourselves. There's this phrase I repeat all the time: "don't take yourself too seriously, but do everything very seriously."

"Our bodies and minds have incredible capabilities, we just need to learn to speak the same dialogue."

We're also about to leave for Los Angeles: what are you expecting from this new adventure?

"I lived in Santa Barbara, California when I was 16 and 17, and I've loved the place ever since. So I've always wanted to go back and work there this time. I finally got my 01 visa, which was a dream, and I'm letting the energy of my work carry me forward. LA, NYC, both, I think given my personality and my way of doing things, this experience is going to be totally unexpected, different and enriching. I don't expect anything, it's up to me to create the opportunities and stay true to myself by listening to my best mentor and life coach: my intuition. That way, it will be extraordinary. Whatever happens, is what I should live for!"

What wellness tips would you like to share with our readers?

"Via yoga, I've really learned that discipline is the best form of freedom. I'm talking about any non-negotiable not necessarily a sport discipline here of course. In any case, I couldn't live my life without this discipline and I'm even sad if I lose it for a few days. To have a frame that has a healthy and passionate feel to it is a gift we give ourselves.

Sleep, I realized 2 years ago how much sleep was the most important thing, and yes, I'm late, but really, it's not only essential, because it's the time when the whole body works full time, but it's also pretty awesome in bean.

Turmeric every day, I'm serious, it's a must.

Meditate. At first glance, it's scary, but I promise it's the most amazing, top-quality accessory you should invest in.

Finally, I'd like to end with this phrase or even mantra that I love from René Char: "Impose your luck, squeeze your happiness and go towards your risk. Watching you, they'll get used to it."
