What exactly is Coolsculpting®, also known as cryolipolysis?
"Cryolipolysis allows to to treat localized excess fat. It should be considered when weight is stabilized. Be careful, it is not a weight loss technique! The principle is to apply cold at minus 11°C for 30 to 40 minutes on the areas to be treated. Fat is more sensitive to cold than the skin and will liquefy and then eliminate itself. Many machines exist, but only 2 laboratories have developed a technology that allows to obtain really effective and safe results".
Which parts of the body and face can it be used on?
"The double chin and jowl fat respond very well to cryolipolysis! In terms of the silhouette, the areas of predilection for this technology are: the waist area, the arms, the thighs, the fat above the knees and the fat above the breasts under the arm... Finally, the areas to be treated will depend on the medical examination which will specify the type of fat (depth, density...) and the body analysis. Some areas will be treated 2, 3 or even 4 times during the same session. This is called "overlap".
What results can one expect? How long does it take?
"The expected result is a reduction of about 25 to 50% of the fat thickness. This will depend on the number of cold applications on the area during the session. The objective is to restore a harmonious silhouette or to lighten the lower part of the face to regain a well-defined oval. For the vast majority of patients, a single session is generally necessary. Only 15% of patients have a second session (often lighter) approximately 3 to 6 months later, in order to optimize the result."
Since I blew out my 30 candles, it is (unfortunately) not a myth that the skin on my face pulls down and mechanically weighs down the oval of my face. My weight is rather stable, but for some time now, small jowls and a double chin that I affectionately call "glouglou" have appeared. A mixture of skin and fat, unfortunately unremovable, which really bothers me when I'm taken in profile pictures... I can't help it, I only see that! When I had my hyaluronic acid injections with Dr Olivier Claude a few months ago (especially on the jawline area), he told me about Coolsculpting® as a possible solution to my problem. I then decided to give it a try!
How does it work ?
After a personalized diagnosis, the Doctor Olivier Claude began by drawing dots on the bottom of my face and neck with a felt-tip pen, to the areas to be treated with the machine's applicator. In my case, 3 applicators will be necessary (one on each side of my neck and one in the middle), that is to say 3 sessions of 45 minutes. I go to a comfortable room where I am almost lying down, so that the applicator can be placed on the area to be treated. I then stay still for 45 minutes (per area) for the treatment to take effect. It does not hurt at allThe treatment does not hurt at all, with a few small tingling sensations at the beginning of the session and some discomfort when the applicator is removed, but it is quite bearable! The skin of the neck is a little numb and red for a few days, but you can resume normal activity the same day !
To see the final result, you have to wait between 1.5 and 3 months. At 3 weeks, I can already see a noticeable difference, especially in the contours of my face, which I find contours of my face that I find better defined. I still have a little numbness on my double chin, which is normal because it takes several weeks for the fat to dissolve. The key to even more visible results is to massaging every day in the morning and evening (and possibly wear a girdle at night). I can't wait to see the final results on my adorable gobbler, but I'm sure they'll be amazing! If needed, I can also do another session to maximize the results ;)
