In the bathroom of Dolorès Doll, creator of the IVINE nail polish brand
Model, entrepreneur and founder of Ivine varnishes and stickers, Dolorès Doll is undoubtedly one of those sunny personalities who inspire us both with their glow and their ability to multiply pretty projects. Let's meet this creator and fan of clean beauty.
Why a nail polish brand?
As a model, I discovered the other side of the business: art directors, photographers, make-up artists and so on. And this aspect of shootings has always inspired me. That's why I don't model for my brand, if at all, because I want to break away from modeling. I've been wearing nail polish since I was 14. Sometimes I change every day to match my outfit. When I'm not wearing nail polish, I don't feel like myself, so creating a nail polish brand was an obvious choice. But the real reason was that since a trip to Japan, with this obsession for nails, I couldn't find what I wanted on the market, so I decided to make a brand that offered a new approach to nail art.
Maison Kitsuné, Longchamp, Ganni and Le Bon Marché... IVINE collaborations are always a dream come true. Can you tell us more about the creative process?
I'm lucky enough to have been contacted by all these brands to work on very specific projects, each with a super-inspiring theme. For Longchamp, for example, it was to support their Energy events with a nails bar. IVINE nail bar around the world. The theme was sport. Using the colors of the collection, their symbols and our best-sellers, we designed a board representing their FW24 collection. For Maison Kitsuné, the theme was Los Angeles. We took their emblematic symbol, the fox, and added sunsets, drinks, etc., to enter the world of the collection.
It's important to me that the collaboration is always around an event, which has been the case every time. Collaborations with IVINE are infinite, because we can adapt to any brand while retaining our identity, but I'm very selective about the brands I work with. What's more, future collaborations will probably be with artists rather than brands, further multiplying the number of possible collaborations.
How do you manage to keep time for yourself?
I don't have many, so I tell myself it's a period that will pass. I love my job and my role as a mother, so that gives me energy.
What's your first beauty memory?
The first time I went for a manicure and the feeling of walking out with gorgeous hands.
What helps you feel good about yourself?
Motherhood gave me self-confidence.
Getting back to IVINE, what do you see for the future of your brand?
I've got lots of things coming out in 2025 and I'm working on opening a salon. To be continued!
