Designed as an anti-winter blues experience inspired by Chinese medicine, this treatment really blew us away. We'll tell you all about it!

Chong Mai in Traditional Chinese Medicine

We know all too well that feeling of low morale that sets in when winter drags on, the holidays and their warmth are over, and sunlight becomes scarce. In traditional Chinese medicine, these drops in vitality are often linked to a slowdown in the flow of energy in certain major pathways in the body, such as the Chong Mai. This major energy vessel plays an essential role in vital dynamics, as it redistributes Qi and Blood and harmonizes all the meridians. The Chong Mai interacts in particular with the meridians of the spleen/pancreas, stomach, kidneys, and bladder, which are the pillars of innate and acquired energy. When it is unbalanced or congested, energy flows less freely, which can increase fatigue, weariness, and lack of energy.

Understanding the role of meridians and Qi

In traditional Chinese medicine, the body is traversed by meridians: invisible energy channels that transport Qi, or vital energy, as well as blood and organic fluids. Each meridian is linked to an organ and its physical and emotional functions, allowing energy to flow and maintain balance in the body and mind. Emotional Qi illustrates this idea: emotions are considered to be movements of energy with a specific location in the body.

For example, anger affects the liver's Qi, sadness affects the lungs' Qi, fear affects the kidneys' Qi, and rumination affects the spleen's Qi. When it flows freely, emotional Qi allows us to experience emotions without being overwhelmed. But when it becomes blocked, it can create tension in the chest or abdomen, fatigue, anxiety, or a decrease in vitality. The meridians therefore serve as pathways for this emotional energy, and their harmony is essential to physical and mental well-being

What imbalances does Chong Mai therapy regulate?

Chong Mai aims to harmonize one of the body's major energy pathways when vitality declines or emotions become difficult to manage. According to traditional Chinese medicine, it helps regulate imbalances such as:

  • Deep fatigue

  • Low morale or feelings of inner emptiness, often amplified by winter or stress.

  • Tension in the chest, diaphragm, or abdomen

  • Functional digestive disorders ( sluggishness, heaviness)

  • Emotional stagnation, particularly deep anxiety or feelings of oppression.

  • Dysfunctions related to innate energy and acquired energy

By working on this deep vessel, the treatment helps to restart the major internal circulations, allowing the body and mind to regain more space, fluidity, and vitality.

Who is Axelle Regano?

A true wellness enthusiast, Axelle is an expert in well-being and the belly with a caring approach and sunny energy. She is the kind of person who inspires us to truly take care of ourselves and encourages us to turn inward: to what is happening within us. After initially working in communications and press relations, Axelle ultimately followed her true calling: caring for others in a different way. With her holistic and energetic approach, she goes beyond wellness to offer a comprehensive approach to well-being. She has specialized in Chi Nei Tsang and Chrong Mai to offer treatments inspired by Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine, for benefits that go far beyond the physical.

Chrong Mai Ayam Therapy: the cure for the winter blues

With Chrong Mai, Axelle offers an energizing experience with powerful benefits against winter slumps and any energy dips that may occur throughout the year. She has devised a dynamic protocol as a "boost" to refocus, revive, and invigorate vital energy for:

  • Boost vitality

  • Balancing body and mind

  • Improving assertiveness

  • Release emotions

  • Support fertility and libido

  • Promoting better breathing

How does the treatment work?

Not for the faint-hearted! Axelle's Chrong Mai awakens the body through dynamic movements that are sometimes gentle, sometimes fast and invigorating, as if she wanted to chase away negativity, all with great kindness. The massage is performed with very little oil, using finger pressure and friction with a glove. At the same time, she uses a rock crystal (with powerful energy-amplifying/harmonizing powers) which, without touching the skin, acts on deeper points in the abdomen.

It is particularly recommended in cases of extreme fatigue, loss of energy and enthusiasm, seasonal changes or depression, or in cases of fertility or menopause issues, after childbirth or convalescence.

Our opinion on Chrong Mai skincare

I walked through the door of Axelle's studio in a gloomy mood, typical of the season and the famous winter blues: lack of energy, fatigue despite a good night's sleep, and that sluggishness that sets in as soon as the first gray days arrive and doesn't disappear until spring arrives. The treatment devised by Axelle is a mindfulness experience! For an hour, she rubs, massages, warms, and activates all the points. She awakens the meridians and stimulates the bladder, liver, and kidneys. And Axelle had warned me: "The effects of the crystal can be intense." She didn't mince her words..."

A few minutes into the treatment, I start to feel hypersensitive, my senses are heightened, and my stomach contracts as if it were being sucked in, as if energy were awakening in my body. It's hard to understand what's happening under her hands, but the gurgling, contractions, and bodily sensations are proof that energy is flowing. Once the treatment is over, I feel warm and, above all, deeply relaxed. And as soon as I leave the studio, I feel energized, as if I've had a cup of coffee: my thoughts are clear, my inspiration renewed, and my concentration restored." - Elsa, Editorial Manager.
