How to care for your skin with dry brushing?
You may have heard of dry brushing or dry body brushes. But do you really know what it's for? Also known as "gharshana", dry brushing is one of the rituals of the age-old tradition of Ayurvedathat gentle medicine from India. Using synthetic or natural bristles and a very specific technique, dry brushing is recognized for its many benefits, including the ability to boost your body's energy in the morning, or detoxify you in the evening before a bath. To help you better understand this technique, we've prepared a short guide to taking care of your body with dry brushing.
How to use a dry brush
Dry brushing is always done from the bottom up. On dry skin, gently brush your body from your feet to your knees, then up to your thighs, and do the same from your wrists to your shoulders. Finally, use circular movements on the chest and upper back. Repeat these movements for 5 to 10 minutes a day. Once the body has been brushed, take a shower (preferably not too hot) to remove dead cells, then moisturize with a body lotion or nourishing oil.Text
