When and how should plant extracts be used?

The ideal and most accessible way to start is with herbal tea. But you can also enjoy the benefits of plants via standardized plant extracts (EPS), which are more potent than herbal teas and available in pharmacies. However, these are considered medicines, not food supplements. Finally, there's the famous mother tincturea hydroalcoholic solution of fresh plants and macerated alcohol.

  • As an herbal tea at least 3 cups a day outside mealtimes (steep for 5 to 15 minutes in not too hot water) to reap the benefits.
  • Vitaminized and mineralized plants should be taken during meals.
  • Plants that treat a symptom or "cleanse" should be taken outside mealtimes (30 minutes before).
  • Warning Drainage techniques are not recommended for children, pregnant or breast-feeding women, the depressed, the elderly or the seriously ill...
