Tell us all about yourself

“Hi, I'm Emma, French-British, and I've been working in the beauty industry for 15 years. I started out as a beauty journalist and editor, then, by sharing my tips online, I became a skincare influencer – or skinfluencer, as I like to call it.”

Have you always been interested in beauty and wellness?

“I think I’ve always been interested in wellness in its entirety. I did gymnastics as a child, so I was very aware of my body, what it was capable of – and the importance of taking care of it, whether through long baths or stretching! I also suffered from acne as a teenager, which pushed me to search for lots of information (this was before Google or social media!). That’s when I started to take an interest in ingredients and better understand what my skin needed. This is probably what sparked my passion.”

You advocate a more authentic approach to beauty. What does this philosophy mean to you?

“For me, beauty isn't just about appearances. It's also about the energy a person or thing gives off. You can be 'beautiful' on paper, but convey something false. Today, everything is filtered online, and it's easy to turn to injections! For me, it's more about enhancing what you have naturally, rather than transforming everything. It's by finding your inner beauty that you can truly let it shine, instead of covering it up.”

How has your skincare routine evolved over the years?

“At first, I wanted to try everything at once, and I clearly over-exfoliated my skin, which damaged my skin barrier. Today, I know that less is more, especially when you have sensitive skin like mine. As for active ingredients, I limit myself to the essentials: an antioxidant every morning (niacinamide), an AHA (lactic acid) twice a week, and retinal once a week. If I have blemishes, I use salicylic acid. The rest of my routine is focused on hydrating and strengthening the skin.”

What are the essentials in your routine?

Morning:

In the evening, I use:

What is the gesture, tip or skincare product that has changed your routine?

“Niacinamide! My skin has never tolerated vitamin C very well: it brought radiance, sure, but it was too acidic for me. Whereas niacinamide (or vitamin B3), I love it! It gives me the same healthy glow effects, without any reaction, and with added benefits for the skin barrier, redness, imperfections... and hydration.”

What is an underrated skincare routine that you think deserves more attention?

“Cleansing! Everyone does it, yes… but often in a hurry. However, proper makeup removal takes time: you have to massage your cleansing oil for at least 40 seconds, and always remove it with a warm wipe. Without effective cleansing, all the skincare products applied afterwards remain on the surface, on skin still covered in sebum or impurities. In short: it's the best way to waste your products without them really being able to work.”

Besides skincare, what other wellness rituals do you do daily to feel good?

“I love writing in my journal, meditating, and practicing mantras—the classics, in themselves. I’m also very interested in Human Design. Diving into this energetic universe has really allowed me to better understand myself, and others, too. I think that as long as we stay aligned with what deeply resonates with us, we will always feel good.”

What role does beauty play in your daily life?

“For me, it’s a real ritual. Having gone through some challenging times with my mental health, having these skincare sessions every morning and evening has helped me tremendously. It’s soothing, comforting, and offers a real moment of pause to reflect. Taking care of your body feels good—we often forget that your skin is your largest organ! For me, it’s the ultimate form of self-love and care.”

What advice would you give to someone who struggles with feeling comfortable in their body or skin?

“Skin is just skin, it’s not who you are. Focus your energy on being a good person, with beautiful energy, rather than focusing solely on outward appearances!”

What's your ultimate self-care ritual when you need to recharge and refocus?

“A bath filled with magnesium-rich bath salts, bath oil, a large cup of tea, and a beautiful lit candle. Taking the time to truly relax, without looking at my phone, and being present with myself always helps me recharge.”

What inspires you on a daily basis?

“Everything! The books I read, the nature I see on my morning walks, the people around me. Beauty is truly everywhere; you just have to be open to seeing it.”

Do you have any exciting projects you're working on right now that you'd like to share with us?

“I recently launched a skincare brand called Sancta , as co-founder, with an amazing body oil and the best body gua sha ever created! I’m so excited for this new chapter and can’t wait to see how it evolves.”
