In Lydia Gasperoni's bathroom

What if aging well had nothing to do with age? Lydia Gasperoni doesn't count the years; she doesn't let herself be carried away by the passing of time but is guided by her energy, curiosity, and personal freedom. After years in the fashion press, she now works as a content creator and proves that nothing is a question of age! Meet this inspiring woman with a very uninhibited view of beauty.

Tell us all about yourself

“I changed my career path, pace, and profession several times, but fashion has always been my guiding thread. After my studies, I started working in Lanvin's press department, but I quickly felt the need for more direct creativity. So I turned to print media and became a fashion editor for various French and Italian publications. At the same time, I worked as a stylist for television and advertising. Gradually, I moved towards content creation, wanting to have a more direct connection with women, to talk about fashion and lifestyle in a more embodied way, trying to show that nothing is a question of age, but rather of attitude and freedom."

What have you learned from your years in fashion journalism?

“Those years in fashion journalism taught me to be observant and rigorous, but also responsive. I learned to develop a real understanding of fashion culture (the history of fashion houses, iconic pieces, references) which still fascinates me today. They also taught me to be confident in my choices. On a shoot, there's always something that doesn't work out as planned: you have to know how to change course quickly, make a decision, and above all, be convinced of your new choice in order to see it through to the end. That's something that still serves me very well today."

You seem to enjoy reinventing yourself over the years... And is age a driving force behind these changes of direction?

“I love reinventing myself.
It keeps my brain active, prevents routine, and maintains excitement and desire. For me, reinvention can involve career changes as well as more minor things, like changing colour . Strangely, age has never been a driving factor in these changes of direction. I've never reinvented myself because I felt too old for something. On the contrary, changing, moving, getting back into motion gives me energy that makes me feel younger. It's that dynamic that drives me."

What does "aging well" mean to you?

“For me, aging well doesn't mean not aging. It's not a denial of time, but a way of embracing it. Aging well is above all about finding balance. A balance between inner and outer health, between energy and rest, between the desire to stay active and the ability to listen to yourself. It means staying curious, open, and alive, while learning to be kinder to yourself. I deeply believe that aging well lies in this harmony, moving forward with time, without struggling, while remaining true to what makes us feel good."

How has your view of yourself changed over time?

“Today, I am much kinder and more compassionate towards myself.
When I was younger, I was often too hard on myself (like many of us). Sometimes we look at photos from that time and think we weren't comfortable in our own skin, when in reality we were doing just fine. When I was younger, I was kind of my own worst enemy. Today, I've become my own best friend, and I feel much more at peace."

Tell us about your vision of beauty and well-being.

“I don't separate beauty from well-being. In my opinion, feeling good is the basis of all beauty: it's what allows a person to shine, to be present, confident, and alive. For me, beauty is above all a question of radiance, charisma, and attitude. It's not classic or perfect beauty, but rather a state, something that emanates from within. And so well-being plays an essential role: when you feel good in your mind and in your life, it immediately shows on the outside."

Have you always taken care of yourself?

“Oh yes, always!
I grew up with a mother who always took care of herself, so it was a given for me.
And I love taking care of myself, and I think it's wonderful what we have available to us today in terms of skincare.”

What are your bathroom essentials?

“I always start my morning and evening routines the same way, with double cleansing.
First, the Skin Cloud Cleansing Balm by Mimétique, which is truly wonderful, then a lighter gel cleanser.

I then apply my EGF Eye Serum Revitalizing Eye Contour by Bioeffect: in addition to its benefits for wrinkles and fine lines, its small roll-on applicator is perfect for decongesting the eye area in the morning. I follow this with a toner, then a serum. At the moment, I really like vitamin C serums: for radiance, I find there's nothing better. I then apply my Rich Firming Cream byOh My Cream Skincare, and finally sunscreen.

In the evening, there are a few variations. I don't use eye serum, but I do use Lightinderm with the Eye protocol (I can't do without it), the effect on my dark circles is really impressive. And instead of vitamin C, I apply Retinol Serum byAugustinus Bader.

And I finish the same way with my Rich Firming Creamfrom Oh My Cream Skincare. This cream is my new addiction: it provides me with unprecedented hydration and firmness, without the drawbacks sometimes associated with rich creams... and above all, it gives me an incredible glow.

Beyond cosmetics, what are your rituals for taking care of yourself?

“I love spa treatments; they're a real treat for me.
I find that treatments like HydraFacial give you an incredible instant glow! I'm also a big fan of LED masksin all their forms: face, eyes, even hair. And I'm a very heavy sleeper—I think that's really the most effective thing in the end!"

What is your relationship with age marks?

“Honestly, I don't focus on the signs of aging at all. I know I have wrinkles around my eyes, but that's also because I smile a lot, and honestly, I prefer to have them: it means I'm happy! For me, what matters most is a person's radiance, with or without wrinkles.”

What is the essential gesture you couldn't do without?

“In reality, it’s my entire skincare routine that I couldn’t live without.
In the morning, it helps me get ready for the day. By following each step, I put myself in the right mood: I listen to music that gives me energy, and I start organizing my day in my head. It’s a real boost. In the evening, on the other hand, this routine allows me to let go of the day's worries, slow down, and come back to myself. These rituals are essential to my inner well-being and balance. They take care of me, both inside and out."

Any advice on slow aging?

“Surround yourself with people who love you and whom you love. Do sports, pottery, or any activity that makes you feel good. Listen to music that gives you energy. In reality, it's mostly about surrounding yourself with as much positive energy as possible and finding happiness in every little thing.”

It has recently been proven that people generally feel "20% younger than they really are." Is this true for you?

"Oh my... for me, it's definitely twenty years younger!
We've been celebrating my 27th birthday for several years now (laughs). I don't really know why that number, but it stuck. Recently, I came across an interview with a centenarian woman who was asked the secret to her longevity. She explained that she had chosen an age (for her, it was 35) and had always lived with that idea in mind. I found it amusing that she, too, had remained faithful to a specific age... Who knows, maybe that's the secret!"

Are there things you didn't allow yourself to do before but allow yourself to do now?

“When you're young, you experiment a lot, especially with fashion and makeup. That's one of the privileges of youth. Over time, you get to know yourself better, you refine your style, and you become more focused. What I allow myself to do today, like many people, is to say no. I've always known how to set boundaries, but now I do so without feeling guilty. And that changes a lot of things."

What would your 20-year-old self think of who you have become?

"Honestly, I think she would be quite proud of me. Over time, I have become calmer and more serene. I am more confident, happier, and more aligned with who I am."
