#seo: acu beauty energy treatment

Why do we have dull skin in winter?

Is your complexion in hibernation? Winter isn't the kindest season for our skin, our energy levels, or even our bodies. Between the cold, the lack of natural light, the slower pace of life, and the dry air from indoor heating running at full blast, it's not uncommon to see your glow gradually fade. But this dull complexion is not a figment of your imagination, but rather a phenomenon in response to the season:

  • The lack of exposure to sunlight and natural light impacts vitamin D production and slows down microcirculation. The result? The skin loses its radiance. This lack of light also disrupts sleep and energy levels, through a decrease in serotonin and melatonin, which is also reflected on the face.
  • Cold weather: to conserve heat, blood vessels constrict, circulation slows down, and the skin receives less oxygen, giving it a gray and tired appearance.

  • Dry air: the contrast between indoor heating and cold outdoor air dries out the skin barrier, causing more dehydrated skin that reflects less light.

  • Cell renewal slows down: in winter, the skin regenerates more slowly, allowing dead cells to accumulate on the surface and dulling the complexion.

  • Diet and lifestyle: we often consume less fresh fruit and vegetables rich in antioxidants, which are essential for radiant skin, while the body slows down.

In winter, the skin not only requires more care, but also more attention. According to a holistic view, particularly that of traditional Chinese medicine, the complexion reflects inner balance, and each season calls for specific actions to support the body and skin.

The Science of Traditional Chinese Medicine

What is Chinese energetics?

Traditional Chinese Energy Medicine, also known as Traditional Chinese Medicine, is a holistic practice that considers the human being as a whole, taking into account the body, mind, and environment. It is one of the oldest healing practices in the world, originating more than 3,000 years ago in China. Its primary purpose is to maintain energetic harmony (Yin and Yang) in order to facilitate the flow of vital energy and strengthen the body's natural ability to maintain its balance and vitality. To achieve this, it uses various tools such as acupuncture, Qi Gong, Tui Na massage, and Chinese dietetics.

The impact of winter on the body according to Chinese energetics

According to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, dull complexion in winter is a reflection of an internal imbalance linked to the season, vital energy (Qi), and organs. Winter is a season of slowing down and preservation, during which the skin, like the body, needs gentle care to maintain its radiance and energy. While moisturizing, protecting, and nourishing your skin is essential, certain routines can go further to awaken radiance and boost energy circulation. AcuBeauty's signature treatment was designed to meet this need, offering a true ritual for the skin and vital energy.

The signature AcuBeauty treatment: the power of energy

Beyond the hustle and bustle of the city lies a place of deafening calm. A haven of elegance where peace reigns and Sophie Montéan cares for troubled souls with attention and kindness. Her Signature Treatment offers a superb interlude for the quality of the skin, the balance of the body, and the soothing of the mind. It combines the powers of aesthetic acupuncture (Aculift), LED light therapy, beauty tools, and sculpting massage. A treatment built around a tailor-made approach that promises to be unlike any other!

How does the treatment work?

The treatment begins with a detailed assessment to identify internal imbalances (sleep disorders, specific pain, stress, etc.) and determine the areas to work on in order to tailor the treatment. This is followed by 20 minutes of acupuncture, during which Sophie inserts needles all over the body (on the feet, stomach, and chest) and on the face. The needles used are very fine and create local micro-stimulation that increases oxygen and nutrient supply. At the same time, Sophie positions a mineral infrared heating lamp to warm the stomach and eliminate moisture from the organs. On the face, the gentle insertion of cosmetic nanoneedles sends a "signal" to the body to regenerate. An LED lamp completes the benefits and boosts regeneration

In 20 minutes, the body gradually slips into a real sense of serenity and tranquility. Then, for the second part of the treatment, Sophie gives a deep facial massage using oil and manual techniques to smooth, drain, sculpt, and firm the skin. The use of tools complements the benefits. Whether ceramic gua sha or Cecily Braden drainage brushes, each tool tones the facial muscles, detoxifies the skin by removing toxins from the surface of the epidermis, and promotes cell regeneration by stimulating microcirculation.

Results? The complexion appears fresher and more radiant, the skin becomes more toned with each session, and the face regains harmony and balance. Immediately after the treatment, the skin is glowing and luminous, the features are softened, and the face appears more rested and revitalized.

Who is Sophie Montéan, founder of AcuBeauty?

A trained gemologist, Sophie Montéan became interested in and trained in traditional Chinese medicine after witnessing its powers. Suffering from a severe eczema flare-up, and with conventional medicine seemingly having reached its limits, she turned to acupuncture. In five sessions, the condition of her skin transformed, and over the course of the sessions, the red patches gradually faded until they disappeared completely. She then understood the importance of rebalancing her inner self in order to take better care of herself. A certified practitioner of traditional Chinese energy medicine, acu-lifting, and Kobido, she offers a holistic approach to well-being that goes far beyond aesthetics, providing personalized and comprehensive support to restore inner balance and help her clients shine from the outside.

What we thought of the AcuBeauty Signature Treatment

Walking through the door of her studio is like entering a pristine world, sheltered from prying eyes and ambient noise. Everything is designed to calm the mind almost immediately. Sophie listens attentively and kindly, taking an interest in every detail of my night terrors and intense premenstrual symptoms, and offers her unique expertise with a gentle touch. Acupuncture plunges me into such a deep state of relaxation that time seems to stand still. The softness of the brushes caressing my face, the precision of the massage, and the sensoriality of the Alaena oil awakening my senses... Much more than a visible glow, Sophie offers us a feeling of renewal! The body is both soothed and energized, and the plumped skin displays a real, lasting radiance." -Elsa, Editorial Manager
