In Fleur Copin's make-up kit

A multi-faceted, sun-drenched artist, Fleur Copin is the embodiment of a beauty that transcends standards. Marked by the demands of a body in movement, instilled by her years of dancing in the shoes of her alter ego at Crazy Horse, she reinvents herself today, far from rigid rituals. We meet this singular, multi-faceted woman who sees beauty as energy.

Tell us all about yourself

"My name is Fleur Copin, I'm an artist: I dance, I act, I sing, and I live in Paris. The main lines of my career: 15 years of professional dance, between music videos, musicals, tours... and finally: the Crazy Horse. I'm also an actress! You can see me in Escort Boys on Prime Video. As for my music, I write, compose and perform. You can listen to me on all streaming platforms."

Did you always know you wanted to make music?

"Not at all! It was pure chance and a series of wonderful encounters that led me to this 'Pilote' project, my first EP, released in January 2024. I'd started quite a few
things in my personal and professional life, which made me
slow down on the performance side, but I'm still full
into the writing" ;)

How has your career as a dancer influenced your relationship with make-up?

"I wore make-up every day for over 10 years for a wide variety of shows. Make-up has always allowed me to enter into my characters and embody them 100%.

Even today, no matter what the occasion, from a simple outing with girlfriends to a single cover, make-up is central. I love it. It's a game for me, and I never tire of it, because there are a billion ways to reinvent yourself."

Has your relationship with make-up changed over time?

"Of course! And I think trends have also influenced my vision. Today, I'm into real everyday minimalism: light, fluid, transparent textures.

I always do my eyebrows (because they're catastrophic), a little bronzer, blush... and above all, I love to make my mouth pretty. Mascara has become almost an accessory, even though I love it, but I'm using less and less."

How would you define your vision of beauty?

"For me, beauty is totally subjective and personal. I've never liked comparing people on their physical characteristics. I rarely agree with magazines that elect 'the most beautiful woman or man in the world'. Beauty is more an energy that you choose to share around you."

How has your career at Crazy Horse influenced your vision of your body and your beauty?

"I'd say... not necessarily in a positive way. In live performance, and particularly at Crazy Horse, the body is at the center of everything. And sometimes it takes up too much space. Inspecting yourself every day from every angle to make sure there are no imperfections is not the healthiest way to learn to love your body. It's through sport that I've learned to love my body as it is, in all its states: maternity, post-partum, summer, winter... whatever. Sport remains my best ally."

What's your favorite part of your face to wear makeup on?

"The mouth, without hesitation. I love playing with lip pencils, matte or glossy lipsticks, and glosses!"

What's in your make-up bag today?

"Obviously, tinted lip pencils and lip glosses. Lip pencil Lip Sketch Hydrating Crayon Ilia is sublime, and I have a couple of Posh Balm Victoria Beckham Beauty that are incredible. An eyebrow brush, the In Frame Brow GelIlia too, a bold eye pencil that I also use as a highlighter, little mattifying wipes, a mini hairbrush...

And of course, an SPF 50 sun cream, the Protection Quotidienne en Geléeby PERS, an ultra-lightweight sunscreen that I can reapply over my make-up during the day.

How has your kit changed since your years as Kika at Crazy Horse?

"It has clearly lightened, and I'm very happy about that. It was intense for the skin at the time: very heavy make-up and sweating every night... Even with good make-up removers, the skin was weakened. I was lucky, I never had acne, but I've seen some skin deteriorate over time."

What are your bathroom essentials?

The one I repurchase even before I've finished the jar: the smoothing exfoliating mask, Enzyme Exfoliator by Susanne Kaufmann, and the The Cream Augustinus Bader. Special mention for PERS Skincare, which I discovered in a friend's bathroom, their products are now in mine ;) Their sun cream and serums Retinol 0.3% and Vitamin C 10% serumsserums are top-notch!

How do you prepare your skin for make-up?

"I'm not a fan of a thousand layers. I prefer the 'little but good' approach: on clean skin, I apply a serum, a moisturizer, a sun cream, then I move on to make-up. That's it."

What's one simple thing you do to feel good about yourself, even on "off" days?

"As one of the great women of our time, Rihanna, used to say, "Hmm... pretend." I give myself a day to do nothing but skincare and body treatments. And if I manage to go to the gym for an hour, then it's not really a "no" day anymore ;)."

Do you have a tip for keeping your makeup looking its best?

"I shine a lot, so if I know I'm going to be dancing or it's going to be hot, I put on a fixative, and I always have my little absorbent wipes ;)."

What advice would you give to people exploring their identity through make-up?

"Don't limit yourself! Make-up isn't there to "improve" you as a human being, it's there to have fun, explore, sometimes even arm yourself against certain situations. Mascara is too expensive to remove with tears, for example. Above all, don't listen to those who tell you that you wear too much make-up, or that you look bad without it. They're just reflecting their own insecurities. The make-up market is vast: whatever your budget, you'll find good products. Just: pay attention to compo and provenance :)."
