In Fleur Copin's make-up kit
A multi-faceted, sun-drenched artist, Fleur Copin is the embodiment of a beauty that transcends standards. Marked by the demands of a body in movement, instilled by her years of dancing in the shoes of her alter ego at Crazy Horse, she reinvents herself today, far from rigid rituals. We meet this singular, multi-faceted woman who sees beauty as energy.
Did you always know you wanted to make music?
"Not at all! It was pure chance and a series of wonderful encounters that led me to this 'Pilote' project, my first EP, released in January 2024. I'd started quite a few
things in my personal and professional life, which made me
slow down on the performance side, but I'm still full
into the writing" ;)
How has your career as a dancer influenced your relationship with make-up?
"I wore make-up every day for over 10 years for a wide variety of shows. Make-up has always allowed me to enter into my characters and embody them 100%.
Even today, no matter what the occasion, from a simple outing with girlfriends to a single cover, make-up is central. I love it. It's a game for me, and I never tire of it, because there are a billion ways to reinvent yourself."
How would you define your vision of beauty?
"For me, beauty is totally subjective and personal. I've never liked comparing people on their physical characteristics. I rarely agree with magazines that elect 'the most beautiful woman or man in the world'. Beauty is more an energy that you choose to share around you."
What's your favorite part of your face to wear makeup on?
"The mouth, without hesitation. I love playing with lip pencils, matte or glossy lipsticks, and glosses!"
How has your kit changed since your years as Kika at Crazy Horse?
"It has clearly lightened, and I'm very happy about that. It was intense for the skin at the time: very heavy make-up and sweating every night... Even with good make-up removers, the skin was weakened. I was lucky, I never had acne, but I've seen some skin deteriorate over time."
How do you prepare your skin for make-up?
"I'm not a fan of a thousand layers. I prefer the 'little but good' approach: on clean skin, I apply a serum, a moisturizer, a sun cream, then I move on to make-up. That's it."
Do you have a tip for keeping your makeup looking its best?
"I shine a lot, so if I know I'm going to be dancing or it's going to be hot, I put on a fixative, and I always have my little absorbent wipes ;)."
