Waiting for baby: in the bathroom of Margot, co-founder of Faucheur Paris

In some families, self-care is passed down as a sacred ritual... For Margot Denarié Héral, it is a legacy that is passed on through the hands, which soothe, sculpt, and awaken radiance. After a career in fashion, she joined her sister Othilie and their mother, Aline Faucheur, a pioneer of Kobido in Paris, to turn facial massage into a bespoke art form at Faucheur Paris. Today, she opens the doors to her bathroom and reveals her rituals between motherhood, pregnancy, and expertise in touch.

Tell us all about yourself

“My name is Margot Denarié Héral. After spending fifteen years in fashion, first as an assistant stylist and then as a press officer, I joined my sister Othilie to work alongside our mother, Aline Faucheur, a pioneer of Kobido in Paris, while I was pregnant with my daughter. Today, my sister and I work together in our loft in the 17th arrondissement and also collaborate with numerous beauty brands. I am the mother of a 5-year-old girl, Sophia, and I am expecting a baby boy this summer."

What makes Kobido Faucheur Paris unique?

“The signature treatment at Faucheur Paris comes from the expertise in facial massage passed down to us by our mother, Aline Faucheur. Every face is unique, and so is every massage. We adapt to each client: for some, we will focus more on the forehead, for others on the oval of the face. It is a tailor-made treatment that adapts to each face. We also work with different product ranges, including Talm for pregnant women, Même for post-chemotherapy care, and many other brands. The priority remains massage throughout the treatment."

What did this transmission teach you about self-care?

“For me, self-massage is a real ritual for oneself. It invites you to slow down, release pressure, and reconnect with your face. Our hands then become the most precious tool for taking care of our skin, in a true bubble of relaxation.”

What do you most often observe on the faces you touch?

“Every face tells a story. I often observe that women need to reconcile themselves with their faces because they realize that the signs of fatigue, time, and stress need to be soothed and that their muscles need to be re-energized.”

How are you feeling in your own skin right now?

“With pregnancy, I feel deeply fulfilled in my body. I feel comfortable, serene, and in harmony. I love seeing it change day by day, and I take great care of it to gently accompany these changes and preserve my skin. For me, beauty is about being feminine. Nothing is more beautiful than femininity in all its expressions: the way you move, hold yourself, take care of yourself, smile. But it's also about beautiful, natural, healthy, glowing skin. A face that radiates."

What requires the most adjustment from you right now?

“My skin became more reactive and sensitive from the first month of my pregnancy. So I had to readjust my entire beauty routine with more suitable products. As for work, after a difficult first few months marked by a lot of nausea, I finally regained all my energy. I just take a little more time between each client and listen to my body more. I'm also lucky to work alongside my sister, who is a great help when it all gets too much for me.

As for motherhood, it's certainly more tiring than my first pregnancy, especially with a little girl at home, but I enjoy every moment: weekends, trips, as long as I can. I also take a lot of time for myself, with relaxing massages by the incredible Kenza, founder of Talm, and those to keep me in shape by Body Retreat (Virginie), a coach specializing in supporting pregnant women. And I'm lucky enough to receive lots of Kobido Mother treatments from my sister, and all the fatigue disappears."

Has your definition of beauty changed since becoming a mother?

"Not really. Natural beauty is still my credo. And of course, nothing is more beautiful to me than when my daughter looks at me and says, 'You're beautiful, Mom.' That's worth all the compliments in the world. That's also my definition of beauty!"

What about your skincare routine?

"For my face, I had to rethink my entire routine and focus more on hydration, following the advice of Catherine Lacoste, who, along with my mom and sister, is the only one who can take care of my skin, especially when it comes to cleansing. Finally, no more random masks—I only use the Susanne Kaufmann Hydrating Mask. For my body, I moisturize and nourish my skin morning and night, applying several layers of cream and oil. For my nails, no more semi-permanent polish! For the past four months, I've been using only Manucurist."

What are your bathroom essentials?

“Since the beginning of my pregnancy, I have been focusing primarily on hydration. For cleansing, I use Oh My Cream Skincare Cleansing BalmOh My Cream Skincare or theTalm Cleansing Oil are both perfect for cleansing the skin while massaging. Then, the Mega Water, which I have been using since it came out and which is perfect for soothing sensitive skin. I then apply the Rich Firming Cream Oh My Cream Skincare, which I've been lucky enough to test for a month now: my skin is deeply hydrated and has a real glow when I wake up.

In the morning, I use Augustinus Bader Hydrating Mistto soothe the skin, followed by Nutrient Serum Revitalizing Serum by Susanne Kaufmann, then The Cream byAugustinus Bader, which literally saved my skin at the beginning of my pregnancy. I apply The Sunscreen byAugustinus Bader only when I plan to spend time outdoors. It's very fluid and perfect before applying makeup. Otherwise, I always carry Oh My Cream Skincare by Oh My Cream Skincare, which is very handy for touch-ups during the day.

When it comes to makeup, Oh My Cream Mineral PowderOh My Cream Skincare for redness and Bisou Blush Violette_FR. For the evening, I love the Victoria Beckham Beauty range for the eyes!"

If you could only keep one product to give you a boost on those "off" days, which one would it be?

“So not one, but two! Professional bias obliges! The Susanne Kaufmann Hydrating Mask is my lifesaver. I leave it on for 10-15 minutes and my skin feels so soft! It's addictive! And if I feel that my skin is dehydrated and lacking radiance, I add a few drops of Skin Booster Mimétique to my cream. It's a great alternative to retinol, which you can't use during pregnancy.

What rituals or gestures do you do for yourself today?

“Once a week, I start my day with a moment of calm, just for me: a latte, a face mask that I leave on, and patches—a moment suspended in time, just for me, before diving back into the rhythm of the day.”

When you are a massage expert, does touch become even more essential during pregnancy?

“Body and facial massages are an integral part of my wellness routine during pregnancy, provided you choose carefully who you entrust yourself to. That's what prompted us to createMOTHER massage, so that pregnant women can come and be pampered in complete safety (products, techniques, positions, attention, etc.).”

If you had to give one beauty tip to a mom-to-be, what would it be?

“Of course, having a baby changes a lot of things and often leaves less time for yourself. However, taking care of yourself remains essential: that's why I recommend a simple and effective daily routine. So, goodbye to ten-step routines. A good cleanser and cream are essentials that should never be skipped. For a mask, choose one that can be applied and left on overnight, and use eye patches, stored in the refrigerator, which can even be worn while cooking."

How do you envision post-pregnancy and your relationship with self-care?

It is very important to take care of yourself after pregnancy. I think the key words are rest, peaceful moments, being surrounded by loved ones, and taking a few minutes for yourself every day. I am lucky to have a mom who will be there for me and who I know will pamper me. In fact, at the loft, I welcome young moms with their babies, who are just a few weeks old and sleep peacefully in their strollers while their moms enjoy their massages. That's where the phrase "a relaxed mom, a relaxed baby" really comes into its own."

Are you already thinking about what you would like to pass on to your children?

“What my mother taught me has become an essential ritual. I often massage my daughter, and every night before she goes to sleep, she asks me for her facial massage. It’s a tender little ritual that belongs to us alone.”
