Waiting for baby: in the bathroom of Margot, co-founder of Faucheur Paris
In some families, self-care is passed down as a sacred ritual... For Margot Denarié Héral, it is a legacy that is passed on through the hands, which soothe, sculpt, and awaken radiance. After a career in fashion, she joined her sister Othilie and their mother, Aline Faucheur, a pioneer of Kobido in Paris, to turn facial massage into a bespoke art form at Faucheur Paris. Today, she opens the doors to her bathroom and reveals her rituals between motherhood, pregnancy, and expertise in touch.
What did this transmission teach you about self-care?
“For me, self-massage is a real ritual for oneself. It invites you to slow down, release pressure, and reconnect with your face. Our hands then become the most precious tool for taking care of our skin, in a true bubble of relaxation.”
What requires the most adjustment from you right now?
“My skin became more reactive and sensitive from the first month of my pregnancy. So I had to readjust my entire beauty routine with more suitable products. As for work, after a difficult first few months marked by a lot of nausea, I finally regained all my energy. I just take a little more time between each client and listen to my body more. I'm also lucky to work alongside my sister, who is a great help when it all gets too much for me.
As for motherhood, it's certainly more tiring than my first pregnancy, especially with a little girl at home, but I enjoy every moment: weekends, trips, as long as I can. I also take a lot of time for myself, with relaxing massages by the incredible Kenza, founder of Talm, and those to keep me in shape by Body Retreat (Virginie), a coach specializing in supporting pregnant women. And I'm lucky enough to receive lots of Kobido Mother treatments from my sister, and all the fatigue disappears."
What are your bathroom essentials?
“Since the beginning of my pregnancy, I have been focusing primarily on hydration. For cleansing, I use Oh My Cream Skincare Cleansing BalmOh My Cream Skincare or theTalm Cleansing Oil are both perfect for cleansing the skin while massaging. Then, the Mega Water, which I have been using since it came out and which is perfect for soothing sensitive skin. I then apply the Rich Firming Cream Oh My Cream Skincare, which I've been lucky enough to test for a month now: my skin is deeply hydrated and has a real glow when I wake up.
In the morning, I use Augustinus Bader Hydrating Mistto soothe the skin, followed by Nutrient Serum Revitalizing Serum by Susanne Kaufmann, then The Cream byAugustinus Bader, which literally saved my skin at the beginning of my pregnancy. I apply The Sunscreen byAugustinus Bader only when I plan to spend time outdoors. It's very fluid and perfect before applying makeup. Otherwise, I always carry Oh My Cream Skincare by Oh My Cream Skincare, which is very handy for touch-ups during the day.
A little discovery during pregnancy: the new Mega Eye Patches Mega Eye PatchesTalm.
When it comes to makeup, Oh My Cream Mineral PowderOh My Cream Skincare for redness and Bisou Blush Violette_FR. For the evening, I love the Victoria Beckham Beauty range for the eyes!"
When you are a massage expert, does touch become even more essential during pregnancy?
“Body and facial massages are an integral part of my wellness routine during pregnancy, provided you choose carefully who you entrust yourself to. That's what prompted us to createMOTHER massage, so that pregnant women can come and be pampered in complete safety (products, techniques, positions, attention, etc.).”
Are you already thinking about what you would like to pass on to your children?
“What my mother taught me has become an essential ritual. I often massage my daughter, and every night before she goes to sleep, she asks me for her facial massage. It’s a tender little ritual that belongs to us alone.”
