Foods that give you glow
To boost your "peachy skin" capital, a number of foods can become important allies. Combined with a good skincare routine, they are the perfect combination for beautiful skin. This month, naturopath Aurélie Canzoneri tells us more about the foods to prioritize for inside-out beauty.
As you know, eating too much fat or too much sugar encourages the appearance of small pimples or blemishes... What's more, refined sugar has real inflammatory effects on the body, particularly on skin cells, synonymous with premature ageing.
What are the long-term results of eating too much sugar?
- The appearance of wrinkles
- Dull complexion
- A tired face
- Lack of flexibility
- Sagging skin
To look after your skin, you need to avoid - or reduce...
- Refined sugar (maximum)
- The "bad" fat
- Alcohol consumption
- Tobacco
And give priority to...
- Green vegetables, steamed if possible (and not overcooked, as they will lose all their benefits)
- Raw vegetables, especially in the form of juices or raw vegetables
- Fresh seasonal fruit, whole or in a smoothie (this time, avoid juicing to retain all the benefits).
- Good" fats: avocados, oilseeds, good PPF oils (especially omega-3)
- Luality proteins
- And, of course, good daily moisturizing
But it is also advisable to integrate the following elements as soon as possible:
- Evening primrose
- Borage
- Spirulina
- Zinc
- Collagen
- Hyaluronic acid
- The pomegranate
- Omega 3 EPA DHA
- Manuka honey
- Antioxidants: such as vitamin C, selenium, urucum, polyphenols
- Vitamin E: in oils (in particular sunflower, hazelnut and rapeseed oils), margarines made from oils, and dried oleaginous fruits (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts).
- MSM: preserves immune function and helps maintain connective tissue (tendons, deep dermis, collagen, cartilage) in good condition - found in products from British brand Oskia.
