We've tested the treatment that brings your hair back to life.
Between science, well-being and sensual pleasure, some hair rituals go beyond simple care. Such is the case with Holistic Hair Grow, Daphné Narcy's signature scalp massage. With just a few precise gestures, this unique treatment stimulates growth, relieves tension and transforms hair health, while offering a truly sensory experience. Let's take a look at this beauty interlude that brings hair back to life.
How exactly does it work?
First and foremost, massage helps to soften the skin of the scalp. It promotes microcirculation to improve the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles. Massage exerts a mechanical stimulation that sends a signal to the follicles, which respond by strengthening their structure (supporting hair growth). This mechanical stimulation also targets the sebaceous glands which, by being "woken up" regularly, produce more evenly distributed sebum rather than too much or too little. Finally, by locally increasing blood circulation and temperature, it optimizes the absorption of applied skin care products and boosts their effectiveness. But the benefits of massage go far beyond capillary health: they also affect our physical and mental health.
Massaging your scalp: our tips
When : on dry or slightly damp hair, possibly with a few drops of oil or serum such as theMoska Aceite Scalp Remedy Oil Ceremonia or Hair Serums Flora Lab Paris.
How: with the fingertips without pressing on the nails or with a brush with natural bristles to stimulate without irritating, such as Brosse N°03 l'Indispensable Scalp Sensitive La Bonne Brosse, or a brush with soft but firm bristles like the Massaging Scalp Brush Oh My Cream Skincare.
Steps : Start at the roots, on the forehead or nape of the neck and work in small circular or gentle back-and-forth strokes, following the shape of the skull. Be careful not to pull the hair. Vary the pressure: light to relax, firmer to stimulate circulation. Finish by lightly tapping or stroking the scalp.
Duration: 2 to 5 minutes are sufficient for effective stimulation.
Benefits: stimulates microcirculation, strengthens follicles, balances sebum production, reduces stress and cranial tension. The massaging brush distributes sebum evenly along the hair shaft, leaving hair shinier and less dry.
Ideal frequency: daily or at least three times a week to stimulate circulation and growth. And once a month, you can put your trust in professionals like Daphné Narcy, the goddess of scalp massages in Paris.
What we thought of the Daphné Narcy spa treatment
"Exceptional" is the first word that comes to mind when I'm asked to sum up my experience at the Daphné Narcy Hair Spa. As soon as you enter this luminous setting a stone's throw from the Parc des Tuileries, time seems suspended in such a gentle atmosphere. Daphné Narcy offers an incomparable approach to scalp massage, a deeply sensorial interlude. Here, you're prepared to fall into the arms of Morpheus, wrapped in the warmth of a comforter and lying on your side to give Daphné free rein. Faced with the precision of her massage, the mind is calmed almost immediately, tensions are released and we're off for 1 hour of complete serenity. By the end of the treatment, the head is still far away and the hair is bathed in the intoxicating fragrance. On Daphné's advice, I waited until the evening to wash my hair, to allow the oil's active ingredients to fully penetrate. In the shower, the oil rinses off easily. And once it's dried, my hair has a rare shine and softness. I'm blown away!" - Elsa, Editorial Content Manager.
