In the bathroom of Hortense Pontabry, co-founder of MiaFit
With her sunny personality, keen eye for beauty, and passion for movement, Hortense Pontabry has shaped a life where design, sport, and well-being come together in harmony. From MiaSun to MiaFit, she reinvents everyday objects, combining aesthetics and functionality, and cultivates simple yet powerful self-care rituals. In her bathroom, as in her life, every gesture is designed to nourish the body, mind, and energy. A lesson in gentleness, style, and elegance to be lived every day.
With Miafit, exercise is closely linked to self-care. How did this belief come about?
MiaFit is at the intersection of architecture, art, design, and wellness. The brand's philosophy is to bring beautiful and functional objects into interiors that nourish the mind and contribute to overall well-being, including through exercise. When you receive a Miafit Totem at home, you discover a sculptural object: it is beautiful, it fits easily into your decor, while offering a complete sports experience... Because to stay motivated and use the Totem on a daily basis, it was essential to create an online studio with the curation of our favorite coaches. Furthermore, our market is as much B2B as it is B2C. Our main clients include players in the hotel industry, who need technical support to offer a true "in-room sports" experience, with coaches at their fingertips! We are in the process of aestheticizing a global sector, where the wellness experience is lived through hotels, interior design, and self-care."
What are your bathroom essentials?
“Right now, I have a passion for Mimétique and its Skin Revive. Every day, I focus on hydration, using a serum, a cream, SPF, and a richer moisturizer for the night. I love Boum Boum Milk Violette_FR, La Mer night cream, and Lip BalmL:a Bruket I also do a mask or (gentle) peel once a week, the Fruit Acid Peel from Alaena is really nice. Four times a week, I do an LED session with the new Elite X600 LED Face Maskfrom Nooance. I use the Cair range and La Bonne Brosse for my hair, followed by a Goop Beauty Dry Body Brush and an oil, Mega Oil by Talm for the body, every night before slipping under the sheets!"
If you could teach your son one lesson about self-care, in the broadest sense, what would it be?
“I want to teach him gentleness. While creating my work, I realized that ‘less but better,’ doing things slowly but mindfully, was very rewarding, both for oneself and for others. So, in the fast-paced Parisian lifestyle, I want to teach him to slow down so he can discover who he is and learn how to be gentle.”
